Hi! I am looking to sublease my unfurnished room in our Hamilton Heights home. The room is $1430 and is available for move in anytime between September 15 - Oct 1 but we can be flexible for the right person.
Please make note we are looking for a roommate who is very clean, considerate of the common spaces and who is respectful.
My roommates and are both in their early 30’s. They are two young professionals, working in as a teacher and researcher at Columbia Hospital.
There is a friendly, non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere that we love to maintain even when our lives are busy or hectic. We have a great spot right off the 1 train and are looking for a personable, friendly, clean and courteous new roommate to share our space.
The room available is huge, it’s 14 by 16 feet and can easily fit a queen size bed, dresser, and desk. The room has tall ceilings that make the space feel large and open and includes a deep closet that provides a good amount of storage. There is also a hallway closet near to the room that could be dedicated to holding any of your overflow, if needed. We also have a very large entryway closet that holds most of our winter jackets and bulky shoes (as we are a no-shoe household).
Our common spaces also have very tall ceilings and are spacious. The apartment has many large windows that let in great light and make the space feel larger and more open. Both my roommates enjoy keeping a clean home that is equal parts tidy and welcoming. We are proud of the space we have created and are looking for a long term roommate who will have the same mentality towards the apartment. We love the apartment and the area and are really looking for a roommate who will maintain and care for the space as much as we do : )
Your rent also includes basement laundry as well as access to a great little gym, a large lounge space (that is almost always empty) and extra laundry machines that are all located in the next building over. There is also rentable art studio space in the basement of our building if that is something that interests you.
We are located on a block where all the buildings on our side of the street are maintained by the same management company and on site Super (who is very responsive and attentive). Our building and the surrounding buildings mostly house young business professionals, a few artists and a couple young families.
We are located a couple stops from Columbia and an Avenue away from City College in a great part of West Harlem that is walking distance to many great restaurants, wine bars and adorable cafes. There is a Duane Reade on the corner of the street right next to the subway entrance and, I know everyone says their corner bodega is the best, but ours really is great! There is an awesome, large and fully stocked grocery store 1 block away and multiple pharmacies close by. Our street is quiet, well lit in the evenings, and tree lined.
The only move in costs would be a security deposit for 1 month's rent that would be turned over to the management company and returned at the end of the lease term or when you decide to move out. Also, first month's rent would be due on the day of move in.
