Offering: Bright room in beautiful 3bd/2ba Bushwick/Bed-Stuy/Williamsburg townhouse!
$1000 plus utilities. One month security deposit. No fee!
The space:
The apartment is gorgeous, with a really nice and sunny open-concept common area and a kitchen island! The ceilings are very tall. It takes up the entire 2nd floor of a duplex townhouse. According to the people moving out, the downstairs neighbors are awesome and if we make friends with them, they might invite us to hang out in the backyard. Central heat and AC, portable dishwasher, quiet street. 1100 square feet.
The room that is available is well-lit with a skylight (that I think would make for perfect video call lighting haha) but doesn’t have any windows. There is a good-sized storage/utility closet right next to it that would be all yours, but it doesn’t have a closet in the room. You would be sharing the bathroom with one person. We don’t have dimensions but according to the person moving out, past inhabitants have fit a full/queen sized bed, desk, and dresser.
Contact us for a video of the space!
Neighborhood:
It’s technically in Bushwick, but at the confluence of Bed-Stuy and Williamsburg, so you have easy access to 3 awesome neighborhoods! Super cute bars and venues are a short walk away. Great transit options: ½ block from the JM lines and about a 10 minute walk to the G and L lines. 14 minutes from lower Manhattan! Within a few blocks of two gyms and laundry is a few blocks away.
Bios:
E (she/her)- 33 year old queer cis woman. I’m a vegetarian so bonus points if you are, too! Or at least cook meat infrequently. I do overdose prevention work for the city and WFH two days a week (usually Monday and Friday). I see myself as silly, open-minded, and social. I enjoy a mix of recharging at home and activities out of the house (restaurants, park hangs, happy hours, comedy/music shows, time with friends, working on building community, generally exploring, etc.), and I travel whenever possible. I value kind and clear communication and collaboration to ensure our home is a comfortable space for everyone. I don’t have any pets right now but would like to get a cat in the future.
A (she/her)- 30 year old trans woman. I work from home and tend to stay fairly busy with rugby. I’m gone most Tuesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday days all seasons minus winter. When it’s cold outside I can be found gaming in my room or binging shows. I tend to be a homebody during the colder seasons.
Milloy- I have a small non shedding dog. His name is Lawyer Milloy and he is a Maltese shitzu mix. He is very friendly and loves people. I really value communal living and sharing space with people. I also consider my dog a community dog. If you ever want a cuddle or a little buddy to hangout with he is almost always available. He doesn’t chew on things, is house trained, and an absolute cuddle monster.
Culture:
We would like to create a cute, clean, adult household with a comfortable, warm, friendly, and community-oriented vibe. We’d like to all contribute to making this new home together, as far as establishing a culture and setting up the common areas (we don’t currently have any common area furniture). As far as cleanliness, we are envisioning trading off on chores, washing dishes ASAP (with grace for once in a while exceptions), leaving spaces “reset” after using them, and keeping the common areas tidy. We generally agree with not “bringing the party home” but want our home to be a comfortable place to have friends over. We would like to host parties once in a while and have friends stay over on occasion. Of course, this would come with a heads up and striving to be mindful and considerate.
Our ideal person is over 25 with a stable income and has a good amount of experience living with roommates. Please reach out with some information about yourself!
This is a new lease, but there are only two of us on it so you can have some flexibility for the length
