Great spot for interns given the close subway line (the Q is fantastic for getting to midtown and FiDi) and the Citibike dock that's 50 feet away!!
This building is 1 avenue from the Q line. The building is in the middle of the avenue, making it quiet and tucked away from 1st Ave. There is a supermarket 2 streets south and restaurants close by. This is a second-story walkup (1 flight) with a virtual doorman.
The apartment itself is newly finished with nice appliances, floors, and finishes. Using modular living room furniture like a foldaway table and rolling island cart make this apartment pretty spacious, but you can certainly fit a couch and table in the space if you desire. The lighting is great, especially in the morning, and the glass building across the street helps reflect sunlight into the apartment as well.
Water is included in the rent; electric/gas/wifi are around $150 or less depending on how often you run the washer/drier and the dishwasher. There is a fridge and freezer, microwave, and a fantastic stove/oven.
Right now, we split the big room to be $2,100 and the small room to be $1,900. Both rooms have closets. The big room has a radiator and the small room has a steam pipe. Given the size, this apartment is pretty easy to heat or cool down with a window unit.
Renters must fulfill the same requirements we have signed to be assigned the lease. This includes having an income of 40x the rent or having a guarantor sign (in-state or out-of-state) that makes the required income. The last day of the lease is August 27th and new tenants can move in anytime in May, but June 1 is preferred.
If you are planning to stay only for the remainder of the lease (to August 27th, ie. interns) we can come to an agreement to leave much of the kitchen supplies, if you want. This can include kitchen appliances, silverware/kitchen tools, pots or pans, and some cleaning supplies.
Check out the video tour. If you are solo, we are also listing the smaller bedroom for a 3-month sublease if we can't find 2 people to reassign the lease to.
We are over a family member's apartment in Manhattan who is leaving the city.
Will include common room furniture if desired.
ie. sofa chair, rolling/folding table, rolling island, bakers rack, and 4 stools
Paper work needed:
-letter of employment
-paychecks
-income of 40x the monthly rent
Renewal rent price will increase to $4,400/month starting August 28, per the landlord.
